This is the cave of Ungh de cultuurbarbaar.

Ungh was born a long time ago on a spot where years later a little village formed. This village is now known as Herwijnen. But that happened a long time after Ungh had left there. Since September 2002 he has stopped being shy of humans, in order to share with us the great cultural understanding that he has acquired since barbaric times. He reinforces his knowledge with his faithful stone cudgel.

Ungh de Cultuurbarbaar

These are the first 9 Unghs that we made for www.uitinbrabant.nl:
This is the very first Unghcartoon ever made.
It was made for the launch of Ungh's workplace.
Notice the 2 silhouets in the 3rd frame applauding the loudest? Well, that's us....what do you expect? Ungh's fanclub was not born yet!
We have no translation for this Ungh yet.
We feel we were not yet able to keep the poem upright. But you can admire the beautifull Dutch poetry!
This cartoon explains why he has a cloth for every situation he'll find himself in. Also, these are about the only drawings in which Ungh wears something else than his little cloth. He is even ahead ot the avant garde, in a string like that.
This cartoon was a good occasion to study female anatomy and our ode to the poor musicproducers with their skinny boys in HUGE trousers singing in videoclips, having to hire halfnaked woman to make money for them.

Here you see the introduction of Leo, Ungh's pet Mammoth. The original text in this cartoon was a
lot less punchier, and it was bugging us, it said something about an insurance form. But since I was translating anyway, I could not resist to change it.

All over Europe there are legends of "Sinterklaas", giving presents to children, and generally doing good deeds, before he was moved to America, sized up with coke and burgers, and renamed "Santa Clause". Many people celebrate him now, because it is more convenient, and less "childlike".
This is Ungh's "stamkroeg", his favorite bar.
The wallpaper you see here was taken from a studenthouse I once lived in.
Ungh is wearing his purple cloth here, because purple is the colour of compassion.

Ah! It is always good to a have a big piece of meat at christmas! Please note, this is the only time Ungh has ever worn a tie!
